Rescued by the ZSTT!

“Sarp”, an 18-foot, 220-pound female green anaconda (Eunectes murinus gigas) was rescued by the Emperor Valley Zoo on Sunday, 30th December, 2012 from the Caroni area. President of the Zoological Society of Trinidad and Tobago, Gupte Lutchmedial led a team of zookeepers and volunteers to the area in response to a call made by guards at the NGC station, opposite the Caroni cremation site, and was able to retrieve the snake alive. The female snake, described as the largest ever kept at the Zoo is currently under veterinary care to ensure its welfare.
